Commander Bob Soward

Comrades,
I wish you all well and I have a few announcements of some up and coming events.
1.)   The Never Forgotten Honor Flight will be taking 2 of our Comrades on Monday the 22nd, please join Patty and I in welcoming them back at the central Wisconsin airport later that evening.
2.)   The last day for soup until the fall is Wednesday the 24th so if you haven't yet I recommend stopping and having a cup or bowl. Chicken and dumpling along with a beefy mushroom and wild rice are on the menu with some bread and sweets of some kind.
3.)   Friday the 26th at 1:00 the Tomahawk Honor Guard will be presenting some awards to The Loophole Bar and Castaways for their monetary contributions and support of the Honor Guard. This presentation will take place at the Post, and I encourage you to attend and recognize these businesses that have contributed to the Honor Guard getting new summer uniforms and 3 season jackets. I also encourage any member to participate if able in the Honor Guard.
4.)   May 4th is the VFW day of service nationwide; I have signed our Post up as participating and would like as much participation as possible. Clint Zoromski is heading up this event for us (thank you again Clint) this year and we need help getting this mission done; so, if you are able, please let Clint or myself know so we can plan accordingly. As of this message there are 2 people signed up to help, we have some yards that need raking and other misc. yardwork.
5.)   Last year the farmers market on Tuesday's was very successful in generating funds to operate and sustain the Post. We were approached by the flea market that meets on Saturday's and asked if we would like to sell lunch there also so we will be doing some of those over the summertime, the first one is May 11th from 11-2, any help will be greatly appreciated.

Respectfully, Bob Soward Commander VFW Post 2687
